Lindsay Canning

Lindsay Canning is a member of Winstead’s Real Estate Development & Investments Practice Group. She manages all facets of commercial real estate transactions, including representing (i) purchasers and sellers in connection with acquisitions and dispositions of commercial properties (e.g., office, retail, multifamily, and industrial); (ii) lenders and borrowers in connection with commercial real estate loans; and (iii) landlords and tenants in connection with office, retail and industrial leasing.

Lindsay collectively spent a decade working for the City of Houston’s Office of the City Attorney and the University of Houston System’s Office of the General Counsel. This extensive experience has afforded her a unique and invaluable perspective, which she leverages to effectively address complex challenges and devise tailored solutions for her private-sector clients.

Representative Experience

• Represented the landlord in the negotiation of leases throughout its portfolio of Class A office buildings.
• Represented a telecommunications tenant in the negotiation of leases throughout its portfolio of back-office and operation centers.  
• Represented the buyer in connection with the acquisition of a stabilized retail center.
• Represented the owner in connection with the negotiation of covenants, conditions and restrictions for an industrial facility.
• Represented an institution of higher education in procuring and awarding design and construction contracts in support of its billion-dollar capital improvement program.
• Represented municipal aviation department in connection with its general procurement, airline use and lease agreements, concessions program, parking management, and capital redevelopment programs
