HOUSTON, TX – Winstead PC, a leading national law firm, today announced that the general counsel of its longtime client Prosperity Bank, Charlotte Rasche, Senior Executive Vice President and General Counsel, was named the 2021 Texas Law Book - Houston Corporate Counsel, General Counsel of the Year for a Midsized Legal Department.

The award was presented at an awards ceremony in Houston. This is the second year in a row that Charlotte and Prosperity Bank have been recognized at the Houston Corporate Counsel awards.

“Charlotte is an outstanding general counsel and this recognition for her, and her team, is well deserved and we were thrilled to have nominated her for this award. In the midst of managing the second largest bank merger in Texas history, the pandemic hit and her team was charged with administering over 14,000 Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans with a combined value of more than $1 billion. This was a herculean task and they did an amazing job,” said Kathryn Blackney Oakes, a Winstead shareholder.

“Winstead has enjoyed a long partnership with Charlotte and her team at Prosperity Bank. They have done a tremendous job of integrating LegacyTexas, while continuing to offer the highest level of service to their clients. All of this during a once in a life-time pandemic. They are a world-class team and we are proud to work with them,” said Richard Leucht, a Shareholder and Chair of the Financial Services Industry Group.
