Wesley HunnellAssociateWesley Hunnell is a member of Winstead’s Construction Practice Group. Wesley’s practice focuses on real estate development, emphasizing drafting and negotiating design, consulting, and construction contracts for owners and developers for a wide range of construction projects. Before practicing law, Wesley served in the United States Army. His assignments included serving in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and managing a portfolio of construction projects in Afghanistan and Bangladesh. Wesley’s practical construction experience translates into superior representation for clients and a thorough understanding of the potential issues of a project. He holds an M.S. in Engineering Management from Missouri S&T University and a Project Management Professional (PMP) through the Project Management Institute (PMI).

- Represented various owners for multifamily projects through all components design and construction in the development of Class A luxury apartments via differing project-delivery methods.
- Represented developers (to include REITs, developers with a captive general contractor, and start-up developers) for the construction of affordable housing projects in Texas for non-profit owners using tax credit investors with public sources of financing and a tax-exempt structure.
- Represented leading developers and builders expanding into the Texas market, including developers specializing in single family, townhome and master-planned residential communities for drafting construction, design, and consulting contract templates or negotiate with contractors, consultants, and design professionals.
