Winstead Wears Jeans, Raises Over $31,000 for Local Charities

12.12.11

Dallas, TX – Dec. 12, 2011 – At Texas law firm Winstead PC, it’s Jeans Day on most Fridays. For a contribution of $5 or more, each employee is allowed to wear jeans to work and the money is pooled together and donated to a specified charity. Since January 2011, Winstead employees have contributed over $31,000 to charities just by wearing jeans.

While Winstead attorneys and staff are active in several other methods of fundraising and support to local and national charities throughout the year--participating in fun runs and walks, organizing bake sales and running a United Way campaign in each office--Winstead Jeans Day has been an ongoing tradition at the firm for several years. The firm donates the money collected to various charities and causes selected from a pool of submissions and the latest beneficiary of jeans day at Winstead is Reagan Elementary School.

Other organizations that Winstead’s Jeans Day fundraisers donate to include Dallas Life Foundation, T. Boone Pickens YMCA, American Heart Association, American Lung Association, Texas Asian Foundation (Japan Earthquake Relief), St. Jude Children’s Research, American Liver Foundation, March of Dimes, National Kidney Foundation, Susan G. Komen Foundation, and the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas, just to name a few.
