Winstead Hooks Former University of Texas Athletics Director Mike Perrin


HOUSTON, March 4, 2019, — Former University of Texas Men’s Athletics Director, Hall of Honor Inductee and longtime Houston litigation attorney Mike Perrin has joined Winstead as Of Counsel in the Houston office.

Perrin, a former linebacker for the Longhorns under Coach Darrell Royal, with graduate and undergraduate degrees from UT, is deeply rooted in Austin and The University of Texas. He served most recently as the University Men’s Athletics Director. Perrin will work with the Firm’s Healthcare, Sports, Litigation and University practice and industry groups.

Perrin is a proven leader within the Texas legal community and veteran trial attorney who has devoted decades of service to his alma mater and alumni. He garnered recognition for his athletic and scholarly achievements as a UT student and in 2010 he was inducted into the UT Men’s Hall of Honor along with running back Ricky Williams.

Perrin received his J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law in 1971 and his B.A. in Mathematics in 1969. He started his legal career with Vinson & Elkins, practiced with King & Spalding, Fisher Gallagher Perrin and Lewis and as a solo practitioner prior to his appointment as UT Men’s Athletics Director.
