Winstead files suit to obtain refund

Winstead shareholder Peter Nolan and of counsel Jennifer Patterson Rabb are representing the firm in Winstead PC v. Susan Combs, et al. (Susan Combs is Texas' Comptroller of Public Accounts).

Winstead is seeking a refund for expenses towards continuing legal education, attorney occupation taxes and parking, listing these expenses as deductible “employee benefits” under the Texas Tax Code. The suit could have implications for other law firms that fund such expenses.
