Brent Clifton has joined Winstead PC as a shareholder in the taxation, employee benefits and private business practice group.   With nearly 30 years of experience, Clifton is a recognized and highly reputable attorney who focuses his work on real estate related transactions representing institutional investors, sponsors and developers.  He was previously a partner at Locke Lord, LLP.

Clifton is a licensed certified public accountant in the State of Texas. He currently serves on the Committee for Government Submissions and recently served as committee chair of the Partnerships and LLCs Committee for the Section of Taxation of the American Bar Association. Recognized as a Texas Super Lawyer and listed in Chambers USA (Tax), The Best Lawyers in America and internationally, Clifton has a long history of representing fund sponsors and real estate developers of all property types in the structuring of their equity ventures and exit strategies (private and public) as well as representing institutional investors in their fund formations and project investments.

Clifton is a member of the State Bar of Texas and past chair of the Section of Taxation.  He is also a member of the Dallas Bar Association and past chair of the Tax Section of the Dallas Bar Association.   He received his J.D. from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law.
