Winstead PC Shareholder Sean Davis will speak on a panel at CenterForce’s Diversity, Inclusion & Self-Care Virtual Summit on June 24, 2020. Winstead is a sponsor of the event, which is part of the CenterForce Women in Law Summit Series.
The summit serves as a meeting ground for legal and business leaders to explore the obstacles, risks and rewards on the path to a fulfilling and productive career for women and minority leaders. The event covers best strategies for recruiting and retaining diverse talent even in the face of a pandemic, how to maintain standards of excellence while working remotely, how to enlist men to become allies and advocates, and more.
Davis will serve on a panel titled “Keeping Inclusivity Alive While Struggling to Survive: Holding Law Firms & Corporations Accountable.” Davis and other attorneys and business leaders will discuss the correlation between COVID-19 and diversity and inclusion efforts, including why the pandemic has a greater impact on attorneys of color and women and why it is important to double down on diversity and inclusion efforts. The panelists will also discuss how to create a sense of community and belonging during times of crisis, and what law firms can do to ensure and maintain a fair and equitable system that prioritizes inclusivity despite the challenges the pandemic has brought.
Davis is a shareholder in Winstead's Business Restructuring/Bankruptcy Practice Group. His practice focuses primarily on commercial bankruptcy and restructuring matters in numerous industries, including: real estate, construction, equipment and vehicle leasing and finance, oil and gas, maritime shipping, health care, food service, office supply, and manufacturing. Sean's experience includes representing and counseling secured lenders, lessors, trade creditors, and financial institutions in a wide-variety of liquidation and reorganization proceedings and related bankruptcy and civil litigation.
