Ouachita Baptist University Honors Winstead’s Cathryn Berryman

DALLAS, Nov. 14, 2018, — Winstead Shareholder Cathryn Berryman has been named the 2018 honoree for Ouachita Baptist University’s “Stepping Up for Ouachita” scholarship program for women. Each year the university recognizes an outstanding Ouachita woman who has shown grace, leadership, integrity and faith over the years.

Cathryn Berryman, an Intellectual Property attorney and 1988 graduate of Ouachita Baptist University will be honored at the university’s Stepping Up for Ouachita luncheon Nov. 16, in Benton, Ark. Since November 2010, the luncheon has raised more than $450,000 toward scholarships for women at the university.

Berryman graduated from Ouachita with a bachelor’s degree in political science and history, and earned her juris doctor degree from Vanderbilt University Law School in 1991. Berryman is a shareholder with Winstead's Intellectual Property Practice Group, focusing on domestic and international intellectual property licensing and transactions.

“Stepping Up for Ouachita” is a premier event raising money to assist with scholarships for outstanding Ouachita women. Ouachita Baptist University serves a diverse student body averaging 1,500 students from nearly 28 states and 28 nations of which more than 95 percent qualify for financial aid.
