Winstead Boosts Business Restructuring/Bankruptcy Bench in Dallas

DALLAS, March 5, 2018, — Three veteran Dallas bankruptcy attorneys join Winstead’s Business Restructuring/Bankruptcy Practice Group bolstering the already robust service group. Joe Wielebinski, Paul Seiler and Walter Buchanan bring their domestic and international insolvency practices to Winstead’s Dallas office. Wielebinski, Seiler and Buchanan, previously shareholders with Dallas-based Munsch Hardt Kopf & Harr, P.C., join the firm as shareholders.

Wielebinski, Seiler and Buchanan have developed a deep understanding of the legal and practical issues involved with insolvency, debt restructuring, corporate workouts, and related complex commercial transactions and litigation over their careers.

Joe Wielebinski brings more than 30 years of experience from a practice focused on bankruptcy, creditors’ rights and financial restructuring. He is active throughout the U.S. in a variety of complex bankruptcy and restructuring matters and related litigation. He also represents victims in matters involving complex financial fraud, money laundering and other white collar crimes, including cases involving national and cross-border fraud schemes. Wielebinski is the Executive Director Emeritus and a current member of ICC-FraudNet, a London-based organization consisting of international lawyers with significant experience in complex commercial fraud and offshore asset identification and recovery.

Paul Seiler and Walter Buchanan are corporate finance attorneys whose practices focus primarily on insolvency issues including the representation of secured lenders in taxable and tax-exempt debt restructuring, monetization and remedy enforcement matters.  Their representations in recent years are focused primarily in the energy sector, involving credit financings to downstream and midstream borrowers, commodity traders and processors, and power generation facilities.  In addition, they possess significant experience in project financing in the area of infrastructure, mineral extraction and health care, as well as advisory engagements to analyze insolvency risks in portfolios of investments.
