Nancy Furney, John Nolan, Michelle Rieger Elected to Winstead's Board of Directors

Nancy Furney serves as chair of Winstead’s Taxation, Employee Benefits and Private Business Practice Group, representing a diverse group of clients, including Fortune 500 companies, healthcare institutions and family-owned businesses. She has over 30 years of experience advising clients on the organization of employee benefit programs, tax planning and advocacy, and compliance with related regulations.  Furney is on the board of trustees of The Winston School, a Dallas school for bright students with learning differences, and she is a member of the executive committee and committee on trustees.   Furney is a member of the American Bar Association, State Bar of Texas, Dallas Bar Association, the Southwest Benefits Association, the National Association of Stock Plan Professionals and the ESOP Association. She is recognized as a Best Lawyer in America by Woodward/White Inc., a Best Lawyer by D Magazine, an AV Preeminent rated attorney by Martindale Hubbell, and she was named a fellow of the American Bar Foundation. Furney received her J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law.

John Nolan has been with Winstead for over 38 years representing real estate clients in development, workouts, portfolio/equity investments and financing.  He has worked with clients regionally, nationally and internationally.  Nolan is active in both the community and the real estate industry and presents regularly at business and legal seminars. He is nationally ranked in real estate by Chambers USA and listed as a Best Lawyer in America by Woodward/White Inc., and a Texas Super Lawyer by Thomson Reuters.  Nolan received his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law and his LL.M. from George Washington University Law School.  In addition to serving on Winstead’s board of directors, Nolan is chair of Winstead’s Real Estate Industry Group.

Michelle Rieger is the chair of Winstead’s Construction Practice Group and represents clients in transactions and controversies related to construction projects.  Her clients include real estate owners, developers and contractors.  She is well-versed in the construction project cycle and when disputes arise, Rieger provides legal counsel through the trial and appellate process and in various alternative dispute resolution procedures throughout the State of Texas.  On the transactional side, Rieger represents clients in drafting and negotiating contracts for commercial, hospital, airport and multi-family/mixed use projects.

Rieger is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas, the Dallas Bar Association, and the Dallas Regional Chamber of Commerce.  She is recognized as a Best Lawyer in America by Woodward/White Inc., a Texas Super Lawyer by Thomson Reuters, a Best Lawyer by D Magazine and she is ranked by Chambers USA.  Rieger received her J.D. from the University of New Mexico School of Law.
