Winstead University: Levies, Taxes and Bonds—Oh My! A Primer on Special Districts and You

Intended for attorneys practicing in the areas of real estate and finance, this presentation will begin with a discussion of what special districts are and what they do, including district powers and basics. Speakers will also address what a bond is and how bonds work, including issuers, security, and cash flow. Practice tips will be shared specific to potential lender issues, assignment of reimbursables, prohibition of districts in loan documents, issues in negotiation of development agreements, and non-financial practice tips/issues for representing developers.
